Piura, Peru
The Peru team will be working alongside of Otto and Lidia Funk in Piura. The purpose of this team will be to encourage and inspire the local church through college-aged, youth and children's ministry. The youth group in this community has been growing in the past couple of years, and this is a great opportunity to build relationships with the Peruvian people. "As we spent time with the youth in Peru, we shared our testimonies and they in turn shared stories about what God has done in their lives. They have all faced hardships in some form and it is amazing their faith as they go out of their way to serve God, especially within the local church!"

The assignment for the Peru team wil involve a variety of different activities and service opportunities:
The team will be based at the MB church in Piura, which has an apartment that the team will live in.
Chuch Services: Every Sunday, the team will attend the church service and participate as invited. There are opportunities to sing on the worship team, do dramas, and preach a sermon and share testimonies. They also participate in activities like weekly prayer meetings.
Teaching English classes: Every week, the church offers free classes for the community. The classes are a great way to interact with people from the community and build relationships, and students always stay long after the class is finished to play volleyball, basketball, or practice their English.
Youth and Young Adults: The church has a thriving youth ministry with a growing community of committed young people. The team will get to work alongside the youth leaders to plan events and build relationships with the youth and young adults.
Work Projects: The team will also help out church members with projects such as construction work in their homes. This is a great opportunitiy to bless the community and to build relationships.
