Angola

Angola is rebuilding itself after a 27 year long civil war that ended in 2002. While there are encouraging signs of social and economic progress, the devastating effects of war are still everywhere. Evangelicals have many challenges, but are active in rebuilding the country and rebuilding lives. They have increased fourfold in the last two decades.

The Angolan MB Conference is growing as national workers reach out into their communities with the Gospel and a message of justice and peace. MB Mission is active in connecting and resourcing Angolan churches and leaders.

Please pray:

  • For missionaries and mission agencies like MB Mission to know how to help in the face of overwhelming needs, both spiritual and social
  • For the 70 local Mennonite Brethren churches to experience healthy growth in the midst of witchcraft, animism and a frenetic pursuit of prosperity
  • For a new generation of young leaders to emerge as the churches invest in schools and Bible training
