Mexico

While Evangelical Christianity is strong and flourishing in some regions of Mexico, there are a number of provinces and people groups in Mexico where less than 2% of the population is Christian. MB Mission has reentered Mexico (particularly Guadalajara) with a strong missionary presence with a two fold purpose. The Beltrans are leading a church planting team focusing on an unreached and seemingly uninterested group – the middle class. The Godards are leading the Matthew team in discipleship and training Latin American missionaries for the nations. The Thiessens are resourcing missionaries to work among the indigenous peoples, especially the Mixtecs, and are participating in a new church plant in Oaxaca (Southern Mexico).

Please pray:

  • For Alfredo and Sandra Beltran as they provide pastoral leadership at RETO Church in Guadalajara
  • For the Matthew Team as they focus on discipleship and training Latinos for cross-cultural ministry
  • For Robert and Anne Thiessen, who serve the Mixteco indigenous people in Oaxaca
  • That many young people will be raised up as strong Christian leaders. 50% of the population of Mexico is under age 20
