Paraguay
During the 19th and 20th centuries, Paraguay survived through dictatorships, wars with its neighbors, and military rule. It now functions as a democracy, but is still suffering the effects of this historical instability. Most Paraguayan believers are from immigrant backgrounds.
Our primary areas of mission in Paraguay are among indigenous groups and those from both the Spanish and German speaking MB conferences. Through scholarships, support of seminaries and partnering in projects for medical training MB Mission is helping to raise up lay church leaders in Paraguay.
Please pray:
- That there will be significant growth in the number of people who turn to Jesus
- That the Bible schools in the nation will continue to develop a new generation of devoted Christian leaders
- For MB missionaries Melvin and Gudrun Warkentin, as they provide a biblical foundation for lay church workers among tribal groups
- For a spiritual awakening and great mission vision in the immigrant churches
