Ukraine
Ukraine has a strong Christian heritage, and the church is in a new stage after emerging from 130 years of unrelenting persecution. Millions of Christians were killed during the communist era, but the church has survived and is stronger than before. The evangelical church has doubled in size since Ukraine gained independence in 1991. Numerous dynamic and visionary Ukrainian mission agencies are emerging to do ministry in Ukraine and throughout the former Soviet Union.
