God is transforming lives in mission and we would like to share these stories of transformation with you. Read about God's work in the stories from our missionaries and short term mission teams.
The Miracle Bike
In late December, a 13 year old girl named Om came to the Bethel Church’s open-air Kids’ Club meeting in the village of Chachoengsao in Thailand. After hearing the Thai church leader Naat speak about how God has shown His power and love to her, Om told Bethel Team missionaries Dave and Louise Sinclair-Peters and Bob and Chris Davis that she wanted to accept Christ as her Lord and Savior.
A Hub of Discipleship
Missionaries Phil* and Susan* have found that one of their favorite pastimes has turned into a new ministry opportunity! After living in Asia for a number of years, they decided to try something new: foot massage! Soon they learned that their indulgence in foot therapy had more than just physical implications – the salon was fast becoming an incubator of spiritual health!
Knowing Jesus
My name is Nsulunka Ekien-e-Kiag Baudouin and I am a Congolese. I am married to Mary Nduku and together we have three children. Joseph-Joel is 18 years old, Silas is 10 years old, and our daughter Priscilla is 20. We live in Durban, Republic of South Africa where we work as a missionary family. I’m thankful to God for this opportunity to share how I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. The Pursuit
God has been drawing Nung into his presence long before she knew he existed. He has been growing the seeds that have been scattered on her life throughout the years and transforming them into a field that is ripe for harvest!
The Battle Belongs to the Lord
“Our Redeemer Lives!” God’s praises rang out loud and clear and in unison over the city of Phuket and the entire nation of Thailand this past autumn. Members of Operation 2nd Wave (O2W), MB Mission’s church plant follow up to the tsunami disaster in 2004, gathered together in the streets of Phuket to claim God’s word and promises over this city in the wake of spiritual darkness.
Cultivating the Divine
“Would we dare to take the risk, at the beginning of our day, to ask God for divine appointments? We might have an agenda – we might have a dozen things on our plate – but if we take this risk, I believe God’s going to show up and blow us away!”
The Promise of Joy
“No fights, no problems, no pain. Everything in their lives must be perfect.” With smiling faces and welcoming attitudes, the Loures MB Church in Portugal knew no hardship. Or at least that’s what Beatriz Semedo mistakenly believed when she began attending the church. Beatriz grew up in the traditional Catholic Church which she attended out of habit. Though she heard the word of God she did not understand it. She was told that God was near and loving, but to her He seemed distant and cruel.
Hidden in My Heart
In the Old Testament the prophet Isaiah said that the Word of God is like the rain and the snow that comes from heaven. It does not return without making the earth bud and flourish. When God’s Word is spoken, it never returns empty. It accomplishes a purpose. In the life of one woman in Toyota City, Japan, this purpose has come to fruition 60 years later. God is faithful.
Miracle Child
Alcohol abuse colored her home life. In an effort to escape her family, Maska* lied about her age in hope of experiencing freedom. Posing as a 16 year old, she was hired as a housekeeper for Central Asian missionaries Ryan* and Melissa.* But in God’s great compassion, He woke her up to see that real freedom – God’s freedom – is found in truth.
