An Invitation

It was the day of their Christmas event and MB Mission workers John & Evelyn Wiens were excited to see how God would work through this event at their new church plant in Ukraine. This would be the fourth service for New Hope Church and they were unsure of how many people to expect.

John & Evelyn had placed an advertisement in a community newspaper inviting people to attend their Christmas service. They had also invited friends and acquaintances, both churched and unchurched, to come and experience Christmas with a candlelight service, carol singing and the Christmas Story.

When Saturday evening finally arrived, the room where the church service was being held was entirely full! There were about 100 people including John & Evelyn’s closest friends, some people from John’s English class, and some of their friends from other churches. There were also acquaintances and some new people who had seen their advertisement in the newspaper.

Each person who attended had the opportunity to hear the good news about Jesus Christ. Praise God for bringing so many people to the Christmas service, and pray that these people will long to learn more about Jesus. Pray that they will choose to place their faith in Him and will experience the joy and peace of knowing Jesus.
