Called to Serve
Ganiga was born and raised in the village of Ang Sila in Thailand. As a child, her older family members taught her how to play poker and she was very good at it. But as Ganiga played poker more and more, this grew into a gambling addiction. She borrowed a lot of money to maintain her addiction and was soon deep in debt.
Ganiga tried everything to solve her problems on her own and finally came to a place where she realized that she needed God. Ganiga found true joy and freedom in knowing Jesus and was blessed as she saw God open up doors for her to serve Him.
After being a Christian for about a year, Ganiga was approached by Karen Sanchez , a missionary serving with MB Mission who told her about the Abundant Life Home orphanage that was going to be started for HIV-positive orphans.
Now Ganiga is serving God by caring for the boys in the Abundant Life Home. She can see how God has worked in her life to lead her to this position, and she truly feels like God has given these children to her as her own sons.
She is excited to see how God is using the children at the Abundant Life Home to draw people to Himself. The children often invite friends over to the Home and they are seeing more and more children coming to their churches. Many people have been led to Christ through these children.
Ganiga wants everyone who is struggling with gambling or other addictions to know and experience the freedom and hope that is found in Jesus Christ. Her desire is that all of the people in Ang Sila will one day praise the Lord and love Him with all of their hearts! Praise God for how He is using Ganiga and the children of the Abundant Life Home as a light to all of their friends and neighbors in Ang Sila. Pray that many will recognize their need for Jesus.
“Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol Him, all you peoples. For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the Lord.” – Psalm 117
