Finding Life

When some people hear the gospel for the first time, they immediately recognize their need for Jesus and accept His love and forgiveness. For others, it takes much longer for them to come to a place of surrender and faith in Christ.

Taeng had heard the gospel many times. She was friends with an MB Mission church planting team and had worked as a translator for them during their early years in Thailand. She had translated the gospel hundreds of times. For eight years, the team had been praying for her and faithfully sharing the gospel with her. But Taeng was still not a believer.

When a DMI evangelism team came to Thailand, MB Mission church planter Carmen Owen felt that she should connect with Taeng again and see where she was at in life. They met up for coffee along with two TREK team members Dave Loewen and Carmen Ricard.

When they all sat down together, Taeng began to share about how she had been flitting from one thing to another without really feeling satisfied. She had been asking many of her friends, “What is life about? What is the purpose of life?” But none of her friends had an answer for her.

TREKers Dave and Carmen shared with Taeng from their own experience about the purpose of their lives. They talked about who God was and what a life of serving and loving Christ looks like.

Taeng broke down into tears as she began to understand how much God loved and cared for her. She realized that she could no longer depend on herself and that she needed to depend on Jesus.

That day, Taeng became a child of God! Now she is experiencing true life in Christ. Pray that she will learn more about what it means to follow and surrender to Jesus on a daily basis. Pray also that God will fill Taeng with a passion to share Christ with those around her.

“I tell you the truth, those who listen to My message and believe in God who sent Me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” – John 5:24
