Miraculous Transformation

“This boy must have met with a miracle!”

The doctor looked at Golf* in disbelief. He was completely shocked at the transformation and healing that had taken place in this young boy’s body over the past year.

A year before, MBMSI missionaries Ricky & Karen Sanchez had come home from summer holidays with their family to a desperate phone call from P Ganiga. P Ganiga is one of the women who cares for the children at the Abundant Life Home, an orphanage for HIV-positive orphans in Thailand.

Golf had been found sitting outside the gate of the Abundant Life Home. He had run away from an abusive living situation and he was beaten, bleeding, and severely dehydrated.

Golf was welcomed into the orphanage and they tested his blood immediately. Although he was born HIV positive, Golf had never taken any medication. When his blood tests came back a few weeks later, the doctor called them in and told them that he was surprised that Golf was still alive and functioning. He was battling full blown AIDS. Golf’s skin was so disfigured that he couldn’t be enrolled in school or go out to many public places.

But just a year later, Golf has been transformed by God. A sick and broken boy has now grown into a loved, happy and healthy young man! With medication, good nutrition, a mother’s love, and the love of the Father, Golf’s life has been radically changed forever. He is now part of a family at the Abundant Life Home and has also been baptized!

Golf’s recent blood test shocked his doctor and he exclaimed, “This boy must have met with a miracle!” Praise God that Golf is healthy and alive today. Pray that he will experience complete physical healing from HIV/AIDS. Pray that all the glory will be given to God for the incredible transformation that has happened in Golf’s life!

Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. – Isaiah 53:4-5
