Shining His Light

Light is being shone in the hearts of people in Asia. So many don’t know Jesus yet but are being introduced to Him and are becoming interested in Him. God is stirring up a curiosity in their hearts as they hear the good news.

MB Mission workers Frank* and Kathy* and their family are serving in a country in Asia. They are encouraged as they see God continually bringing people into their lives. As they build friendships and trust, Frank and Kathy have had the opportunity to share the gospel with many Asian people.

One of these people is a monk who was one of Frank’s English students. He has heard the good news and has been listening to Bible stories on a recorder that was given to him by Frank and Kathy. He is from a different area of the country but will soon be visiting the city where Frank and Kathy live for a few days. Praise God that he has a desire to reconnect with Frank during this time. Pray that he will turn to Jesus and that the veil that lies over his heart will be taken away.

Frank and Kathy met another family while traveling in Asia, and were able to catch up with them recently. The husband understands a bit about who Jesus is and is interested in knowing more. Frank and Kathy are praying that their relationship with this family will deepen and that the husband’s interest in Jesus will grow into a hunger for Him. Pray that Jesus will encounter him and that he will lead the rest of his family in following Jesus.

A brother and sister love to spend time in Frank and Kathy’s home when they get breaks from the boarding school they attend. The brother has been declared to be a living Buddha and will one day be expected to begin his studies at a monastery. They both have a genuine interest in Jesus and love to hear stories from the Bible. But there is a battle going on and soon they will need to make a choice between the beliefs of their family and the truth of Jesus that they have seen lived out and spoken through Frank and Kathy. Praise God for the victory that he gives us in Christ!

God is on the move in Asia! Many people are living in darkness and their hearts have been blinded by false religion and sin. But God is shining the light of Jesus into dark places and He desires for all to experience the freedom that is found in knowing Jesus Christ.

For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. – 2 Corinthians 4:6
