November 2009
At our recent European workers consultation in Austria we were joined by pastors and lay leaders from across Austria and Germany. They shared their struggles and breakthroughs in mission with each other. We washed each others’ feet and encouraged one another.
At our recent European workers consultation in Austria we were joined by pastors and lay leaders from across Austria and Germany. They shared their struggles and breakthroughs in mission with each other. We washed each others’ feet and encouraged one another. Many commented that our meetings together were a new beginning of a mission relationship in Europe. We are praying together about establishing a church planting resource team for Europe.
I also enjoyed meeting with Bernard, a well known Austrian mountain climber who has set records for free climbing around the world. He climbs vertically with the same ease that I walk horizontally! What has captured Bernard’s life in the past several years has been Jesus.
The prophet Daniel saw a vision of a “rock (that) was cut out, but not by human hands.... the rock...became a huge mountain which filled the whole earth.” (Dan 2:34-35) That mountain is the Kingdom of God, which is replacing all other kingdoms. Bernard is now a climber on that mountain! He is committed to reaching out in his community and sharing the transforming gospel of God’s love and grace in Christ. Look for Bernard’s story and some amazing mountain climbing footage on an upcoming “Shine On” DVD. Let’s keep climbing in mission together!
(The 2-3 minute “Shine On” DVD stories are designed for your worship services. Please let us know how they are serving you. www.mbmission.org/video/stories )
Ministry Highlights
One of the house churches that MB Mission’s Oasis Team serves in North Africa has grown to 18 people! It can no longer meet in its current location, so the church has decided to multiply by forming two groups. It is exciting to see how God is building His church and drawing people from darkness into light! Praise God for the new leader of this second group, and pray that that a safe place will be found for this house church to meet. www.mbmission.org/Oasis
13 TREK participants are almost finished their 2 months of training and will soon be sent to learn and serve alongside MB Mission church planting missionaries in Thailand, Ukraine and Mexico for 7 months. Praise God for these young adults who are willing to follow Jesus wherever He leads them. www.mbmission.org/TREK
Items for Prayer
Celebrate Mission Nights are taking place across regions of North America. You are invited to come to this year’s CMN and meet a new church planting team that is currently in the process of raising support and preparing to serve. Be inspired by what God is doing around the world, pray for missionaries, and interact with other believers from your area. www.mbmission.org/cmn
