One of our summer ACTION teams serving in a remote region of Central Asia approached the ger (tent) of a nomadic family. It was the same family one of our teams had visited two summers ago. Two days before the team’s visit this summer, the oldest daughter in the family, “Agi” had a dream. In her dream she met Jesus, and he said that people were coming to visit who would explain how she could have a relationship with him.

Agi excitedly told her family the dream. When our team came two days later the family was ready to hear the gospel and all of them decided to follow Jesus. A number of other families in that valley also decided to follow Jesus this summer. Our team then brought them together for the first worship service in a “ger church.” The Holy Spirit is the evangelist. He is at work in peoples’ hearts and invites us to join what he is doing. Jesus said the Holy Spirit “will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.”(John 16:14) Our prayers for least reached people groups and workers who serve among them involve us in God’s work. We have the privilege of praying bold prayers for God to reveal himself to seekers. Some pray, others give, some go – but it is God who transforms lives.

Ministry Highlights

We are thankful for the incredible work that God did this summer through the SOAR and ACTION teams that served both in North America and in other parts of the world. As they stepped out in faith and extended the love of Jesus to others, many participants experienced renewal and a rekindling of their devotion to Christ. Praise God for the seeds that were planted by these teams! www.mbmission.org/SOAR October 2009

Dave & Louise Sinclair-Peters have started a cell group among immigrant workers in Thailand. Recently, five men heard the message of salvation for the first time and gave their lives to Christ. Praise the Lord for these new additions to God’s family! Pray for the spiritual growth of these new believers, and pray that this cell group will expand and grow as more people come to know Jesus.

Items for Prayer

Please pray for our upcoming European Retreat and Consultation meetings in Austria (Oct 21-28) which includes our Europe workers and partners. Pray for times of refreshing, new vision and strengthened relationships.

Please pray for our 20 Mission Training and Equiping participants and their preparation for long term assignments. www.mbmissiob.org/MTE

Jesus said. “I will build my church the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” (Mt.16:18) God is sending us workers who know their authority in Christ and are not afraid to confront the fears and superstitions of people who are in bondage. We are seeing increasing numbers of long term workers discerned and trained for long term church planting amongst the least reached. Young men and women are coming to us “like dew” and we are grateful for the opportunity to send them into areas of significant opportunity and need where the name of Jesus is not yet known.

Until He Comes,
