Lori Nickel

Position: Executive Assistant

Location: Western Canada - International Office Abbotsford, BC

Biography: I serve as Randy Friesen's Executive Assistant and began this role in December 2009 after serving on the TREK team. My duties seem too varied to list, but in addition to working closely with Randy, I also serve the Lead Team and MB Mission Board in various capacities. It has been my pleasure to get to know the members of our Board, and to also interact with constituents and our missionaries.

My first encounter with MB Mission was on a family short-term mission trip we took in 1996. It was life changing for my husband and me, and ever since then we have served with MB Mission as volunteers until I joined the staff in 2008.

I married Norm Nickel in 1983 and we have 4 wonderful kids: Kelsey (& Mike Schmidt), Kyle (& Whitney), Trevor, and Connor. We attend South Abbotsford Church and have served there in many different roles over the years. We have gone on numerous STM and Prayer trips and are both passionate about discipleship, prayer, mentoring and being involved with other cultures. Norm works in the International department at M.E.I. (our local Christian high school) and we find ourselves surrounded by those serving in other cultures and those from other cultures – we love it!
