Raising Prayer & Financial Support

All MB Mission workers raise their own prayer and financial support from churches and individuals in their region. We believe that relational funding strengthens the relationship between missionaries serving with MB Mission and the MB churches that support them.

Mobilizing a missionary takes at least three parties working alongside God, the one we all serve: the sending church(s); the missionaries, and the mission agency. Each has an important role to play.

Typically, when we talk about mobilizing support, we think financial. But as we start raising support, we realize that prayer support is our greatest need. We also recognize that raising prayer support will mean that financial support will follow.

Our first interpersonal core value at MB Mission is dependency on Jesus. This is best illustrated through prayer. We recognize that prayer IS the work. We cannot mobilize to a foreign field without having a strong prayer intercessory team behind us. One of the biggest responsibilities for any missionary is to raise up a prayer team, and to communicate with them regularly and effectively.

While on Jornada, you will raise $1000 - 1750 USD in monthly support during the training and support raising phase, and $3000 - $4000 USD in monthly support while on overseas assignment. There are also one-time costs for international travel. Couples and families will raise support according to their particular needs. Your local Regional Mobilizer will assist you in connecting with churches and supporters in your area.
