Joy in Christ

“I’ve never been in a place where people have so much joy. Why are people so happy?”

Jan is an older man from the Netherlands but he lives in Lithuania. He moved to Lithuania because of a woman that he met and now lives with, but Jan does not speak Lithuanian so it is difficult for him to communicate with many people.

When Jan met the TREK team that was serving in Lithuania, he was immediately drawn to them because they spoke English. They enjoyed getting to know him and learning about his life.

Although Jan was initially very turned off to the church, he did believe that there was a greater “being” out there. Over time Jan started to realize that the TREK team had something that he was missing and he became more curious about God.

Jan attended a few church services and was intrigued by the joy and happiness that he saw in the church. He was very interested and asked the team lots of good questions.

Now that the TREK team is back in North America, Jan has connected with Christoph Hagele, a missionary serving with MB Mission. Pray that Jan will continue to pursue the truth and that God will reveal Himself to Jan. Pray that he will experience the joy of knowing Jesus and being in relationship with Him.

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn—
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.”
– Psalm 98:4-6
