Pre-Program Training
Pre-Program Training is an important aspect of preparing for SOAR Heartland because it helps you and your team get the most out of your mission experience. By taking time individually and as a team, you can better prepare yourself for the mission ahead. Pre-Program Training can be broken down into two parts: Team & Individual Training.

Team Training: Manual
Once your team has registered for SOAR Heartland, your team leader will receive a training manual that will prepare you and your team for your mission trip by helping you identify expectations, develop a Team Covenant, learn to share the gospel and begin to understand Winnipeg's inner-city culture.
Individual Training: Next Mile Goer Guide (Part 1)
Once accepted, each participant will receive A Next Mile Goer Guide. MB Mission has teamed up with The Next Mile, a resource organization that helps lay the foundation and follow-through for your mission trip. The purpose of this Guide is to help you prepare and unpack your experience so that you can discern God's leading for your future. As part of the material, each participant must find a mentor and meet with them before and after their trip.
Individual Training: Meet with Your Mentor (Part 2)
As a pre-requisite for being accepted onto the SOAR Heartland program, you and your mentor will need to complete a Mentor Covenant (click to download) that outlines your commitment to meet together two times before the program and two times after you return home.
A resource for your mentor is provided in the Next Mile Goer Guide that will help to guide and direct some of your meetings together - discuss your expectations before going and how to apply what you have learned/experienced into your life back at home when you have returned.
