Fine Print Details
Before applying for TREK, please take some time to Read our Fine Print Details page.
-MB Mission reserves the right to end a participant's TREK experience at any time. This is not a common practice; however, it does occur from time to time. Possible reasons for a decision of this nature could include personal issues, attitude, sin issues, mental health challenges, lack of finances, or a general sense that the TREK participant is not ready to participate in the assignment. TREK leadership would attempt to make this decision with the participant's church pastor and/or mentor.
-MB Mission encourages you to raise this money by sending out prayer and support letters. It is very important to remember that you are not "paying" for your missions experience. You are actually joining MB Mission as a volunteer, and inviting others to join you in this ministry. Some will join you through prayer, some through finances, and some through update letters and emails. When you understand that TREK participants are coming together as volunteers, then fundraising to cover ministry expenses, it is then no longer a matter of "cost," but rather - how much support (prayer & financial) can we gather together to better do ministry. Therefore, before leaving for the assignment phase TREK does require the designated amount of funds to be raised by each person before leaving for the field.
-MB Mission is only responsible for participants during the actual program. If a participant arrives earlier or plans to stay later than the specified program dates, they will have to make their own arrangements for food, lodging, and travel.
-As a participant in MB Mission's initiative, you and your supporters are making a charitable donation to MB Mission's broader vision. All gifts will be receipted for tax purposes. Because the Canadian government holds Christian charities strictly accountable, no charitable donations may be refunded for any reason. Please be aware of this as you manage and submit your support.
