- Large - 41mb As a young girl, Renate had always dreamed of having a picture-perfect marriage and family. So when her marriage ended in divorce, she felt like her world was falling apart.
Renate felt like there was a wall between her and her husband but she didn’t understand why they were so distant from each other. When she decided to follow him one day, Renate discovered that her husband was having an affair with another woman.
She was shocked. Her whole world had collapsed and her dream of having a family was gone. Renate felt like she couldn’t go on. She wanted to trust in God but she was afraid that she would have to give up all the things that she loved and that gave her joy if she followed Jesus.
But after God carried her through this hard time, Renate came through with greater joy than before. She learned that God could take the broken pieces of her life in His hands and mend them. Over the last 20 years, Renate has not experienced loneliness even though she is alone. God has surrounded her with friends in her church who have become a family to her.
Praise God for providing a family for Renate! Pray that this church will continue to welcome and surround people who are hurting and alone with love and grace.
